How I came to know Jesus

Growing up in a Christian home I attended youth groups, Awana and other various activities in the church. I came to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior at age 6. It was a very happy and joyous time in my little heart but as I got older and attending a Christian school I felt I didn't quite understand what I went through at such a young age. Thankfully I had good family, teachers and many good pastors God placed in my life to teach me. 

One day in our Bible study classes it hit me, am I really sure that Heaven is where I am going. I knew deep down it is but felt I understood it much better on how precious of a gift Jesus offered to us and what a paradise awaits those who are called His children. At age 12 I rededicated as a Christian and it only drew me closer to Jesus. I enjoy reading the Bible, the teachings of Dr. Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Rick Warren and of course from all the good pastors I've had, particularly to my last church in Walnut Creek, Ohio. (Walnut Creek Mennonite Church). 

Oh this doesn't mean my life was paradise after that; I faced and still face today lots of trials and tribulations but inside I had deep peace knowing that when I am called Home it will be in Heaven with Jesus where Satans wicked snares can never trap me again. I also had the deep reassurance knowing that the Holy Spirit is with me wherever I go and helps me with whatever I face and it comforts me to know that gift is available to anyone who wants to know and draw close to Him.

I do feel I have much to do but I am deeply grateful for what Jesus did on the Cross all those years ago taking my place when I definitely deserved that punishment. What a friend we have in Jesus.
